Chartreuse...what color is that exactly?

I'm not a huge fan of the front sitting room that never really gets used in a house. I want to use every possible square foot to it's greatest potential. So...ours will be a glorified furnished mud room. The large aqua desk will be there to catch mail, magazines, library books, grocery lists, & such. The reupholstered sofa will provide a place for reading and timeouts. There will be coat hooks and an umbrella stand. A large antique glass tank thing (what are those called?) to hold coins. Glass jars of all sorts & sizes to catch the random things you always find around the house but never have a really handy spot to put them away in a seconds' time (i.e. buttons, safety pins, bits of ribbon, etc.).

There will also be this little gem that I found at the D.I. for $12, and repainted.  It is a rectangular coffee table that will instead be re-purposed as a bench to sit on while removing/putting on shoes with baskets underneath to hold items such as gloves, beanies, scarves, & slippers.  I'm trying to find the EXACT right size of basket. It needs to be wider & taller. Throw pillows will go on top along the wall. I love the style of it and all the little details.

I painted the thing chartreuse. It is a bright bright green/yellow. If you think the picture looks too bright, it doesn't. It's fairly representative of the actual color. Don't get too close, it might bite you!

And you can see the aqua desk behind. Told you it was deeper in color than you actually thought. Clay's a little freaked out. I'm getting more & more excited. Coming soon: the mirror goes mustard.

such a good idea to use the table as a bench. I love the details on the table too.

still a big supporter of the desk color.

The table/bench is AWESOME, and I love the color (including the desk behind it.) Also I agree with the sitting room, I hate them, so I love your idea. I am going to have to see a pic of the room or see it with my own eyes some day, just so you know... so here is a fair warning :-)

I can't wait to see it. Please tell me that you will invite me over. Please!

Also, chartreuse is the color of Evie's favorite fall cardigan! Chartreuse for life!
